This class runs at The Makery in Darlinghurst. It covers all the basic techniques you need to know including single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch, making a foundation chain, turning, slip knots, finishing off and weaving in ends. Plus other bonus techniques if we get time! Bookings can be made here at the Makery's website.
Learn to crochet hangers for bottles, tin cans, jars and more in our level two crochet class! This class requires a little prior crochet knowledge, including Chain Stitch, Slip Stitch, Single and/or Double Crochet Stitch. If you have tried these stitches, or have attended our Beginners Class you will have the skills!
What is included:
- Free step by step printed pattern for you to use in class and take home
- 4.5mm Crochet hook (you can also bring your own)
- A selection of 8ply yarns (again, you can bring your own, must be 8ply)
What to bring:
A tin can, jar, glass bottle, cup or other cylindrical vessel with a diameter between 4-10cm (or there-abouts)

This beginners crochet class will be held at Sydney's Fibre Fair!
The lesson covers all the basic techniques you need to know to get you started and help you make your first crochet project. Laura from School of Hard Knots will be happy to answer any of your crochet questions and will ensure that no one falls far behind by going step by step and working with each student individually during the class.
LEARN - fundamental stitching techniques such as chain, single crochet stitch & double crochet stitch as well as bonus techniques and most importantly - crochet lingo!
LEAVE WITH - with the techniques you'll need to try your first crochet pattern.

Fibre Fair is a celebration of all things fibre art with the intent of introducing curious new audiences to the fibre community via markets, workshops, demonstrations and an art show. The Fibre Fair runs from the 22nd - 25th of October.
Throughout the fair there will be an exhibition of work featuring an array of contemporary Sydney fibre artists working across mediums including weaving, crochet, quilting, knitting, textile design, embroidery, knotting, wrapping and tapestry.
The Fibre community has a big heart and is very welcoming – come join in the festivities where you may learn a new hobby or skill, have the opportunity to see artists at work, have a chit chat over a drink, make new friends and be inspired by all the fibrous art!
